    Default Cheyletiella Mites - Help

    Long story short
I am looking for people who have experience treating those mites on their pets and on humans.
What has worked for you and your pet .

I can't say that I've ever come across this myself but I'd think it's probably worth trying either Bravecto or Nexgard on your dog. They are both flea and tick treatments given by a chewy tablet that also completely eradicate demodex mites although they don't state this on the label at present. I'd imagine that you'd also need to treat carpets, curtains, upholstery etc in your home too.

Hope you get it sorted ok - sounds an absolute nightmare to have to deal with this!

yup, easily dealt with by a spot on treatment containing selamectin or ivermectin (revolution or heartguard or even by ivomec injection) will kill them off. Your vet should give you something like this, sometimes they give a bath. I agree with LilyFaire above, that bravecto will in all likelihood also kill them off (and it's a bit safer than the above mentioned, typically very safe treatment options - be careful with ivermectin if there's any kind of collie/herding breed in your family).

They're irritating as all get out, be forewarned, they don't inhabit humans as a host, but they can definitely live on you for a while and make you rashy and itchy. Wash hands after touching your pup, and wash their bedding also.

I wash all bedding at least once a week already. The vet got us Revolution. Brevecta is my regular flea prevention.
My biggest issue is actually me. I have bites all over and my Dr treated as Hives . My husband just now has started to get the bites or we would still be thinking itchy dog skin and human hives. I got Neem shampoo and will use Revolution this weekend. My house will be deepcleaned with Borax and everything washed and sprayed . In addition we will set off a flea fooger.

I never had something like this and Dr keep saying allergies. I have this bites all over. I will report of my progress. I went and got a few natural remedies to calm the itchy for my husband, me and my pups . Wish me luck to eradicate this pest fast.

Poor you - it sounds horrendous! Do you have any other pets apart from the Pug, eg cats or rabbits as they’ll all need treatment. Good luck!
