Oh, no......I'm so sorry to hear this.....I'm sending along lots of hugs as well as tons of positive thoughts & prayers that it isn't cancer, & if it is, I hope the vets can help Stalin!

UPDATE

The BRAF test came back negative! Now his internist doesn't think it's a great test, but I'm happy it came back negative (a positive means cancer, a negative has a 15% chance of a false negative, and it doesn't test for any other cancer except TCC).

The internist did a follow up on his sinus today (staying on prednisone longer, he's improved but still congested) and she did a rectal. She's not sure she's feeling any separate urethral mass, but she is feeling an odd prostate feel. And on the US that was done elsewhere, there is SOMETHING in the prostate. Small, but there.

So next step is blood test (waiting on results), another urine culture to be sure the bacteria is gone (waiting on results), and for her to do her own US while doing a rectal (waiting to hear the date).

So now there's more waiting, and more stress. She did say I shouldn't be overly worried, but that it should be followed up on. But we all know I'm worried! But so far it's sounding better than it did. If it is something, it's caught early because his urine stream is still powerful.
