DefaultEmergency Vet Visit/Louie ate a Tylenol

I accidentally dropped a Tylenol and before I could pick it up Louie snatched it.

I tried to get it out of his mouth but it wasn't in there and I didn't see it anywhere on the floor where maybe he spit it back out so off to the vet we went. Thankfully his vet is about a 2 - 3 minute drive from us.

We get there, I am crying and trying to explain to the receptionist what happened. Louie looks at her, gives a kind of cough/gag and out flies the Tylenol and lands right in front of her on the desk.

Louie is fine. The pill wasn't in his mouth long enough to dissolve at all.

    I'm still shaking.

Oh my goodness!!! I would have been frantic too! I'm so glad he spit it out right then and there! Gosh that's scary. So glad everything turned out to be fine.

He is just so quick! He is always right under my feet and if anything hits the floor it's his. He just snatches and usually he runs. I'm thankful this time he didn't run with it.

Oh my gosh, what a scare that must have been!!! Thank goodness he spit it out at the vet and all is well. Naughty puggie for scaring your humans like that!

Wonka did something similar when he was young, grabbed a dropped pill and ran off. I rushed him t the vet where they made him vomit, but we never did see the pill! I don't know if he spit it back out (without anyone seeing it) and we made him vomit for no good reason, or if it dissolved that quickly and went into his system. Other than being especially sleepy, he never seemed to react to the pill at all.

I try to do meds away from my guys. Or...if I think I drop something...I push them into crate before I start looking!

Since this had a good outcome (and I'm so glad it did), I will admit that I laughed at the mental picture of Louie spitting the pill out right in front of the receptionist. Good grief, there is never a dull moment with a Pug around.
