    DefaultRunny nose

Fran has had a runny nose for a while. We've been to the vet twice. Her lungs are clear, it's just nasal congestion. The first time they had her on nose drops. which did nothing. But then as soon as they went in she sneezed them out. The second time they put her on steroids which also did nothing. The drainage is clear and honestly I think it bothers me more than it does her. She doesn't have a cough at all. Another site suggested half a childrens Claritin a day. Has anyone ever used that for their pug or any other suggesetions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Our vet said to give our pugs 1/2 of a Claritin to help with their itchy paws and they do well on it, but neither has runny noses.

Claritin (Loratadine) would certainly be worth a try. We've used it for pugs in the past and they tolerated it well. If the runny nose is caused by allergies, you might need to try a couple of different allergy meds to figure out what works best for her. For example, with Nilla, we found that chlorpheniramine managed her allergies better, but that's not the case for all dogs.
I hope you find something that helps!
