    Default Louie has a UTI

    I feel TERRIBLE.

As I've stated before he's been caught going pee pee in the house a few times and just this morning he got in big trouble for going pee pee on his toy box.

Well, he had a vet appointment this morning as a pre check up for his neuter and something came back a little elevated. So they did a urinalysis on him and yep...UTI.

I feel like the worst Mama ever.

It happens don’t feel so bad. Just start increasing his water intake (mine get a little bit of broth mixed in with water at lunch) and make sure he has plenty of opportunities to pee(outside) I also give them seedless watermelon, just a cube or two a day since it is mostly water. Hopefully it’s just a one time deal.

I hope it will clear up quickly.

His vet said she thinks we caught it early.

It happens!!!! Hard with a puppy to notice!!!! Anytime my boys sniff my girls more than usual..I check out my girls! Anytime any of the pee in the house...I watch it!!! Once housebroken.....could be a UTI! Thankfully, most are really easy to clear up!

Don't be too hard on yourself! Sometimes it's really, really hard to know they've got one. It's good it was caught early and now he's on med's to take care of it. As Diane said, most clear up pretty easily. Hopefully Louie will be all better soon!

Dogs do not speak human language and we are often not the best translators. They can not tell us if something is not right .

Don't be hard on yourself. It was discovered early and should clear up pretty easily.

Don't feel bad - with Lucy, you can't tell she has a bladder infection brewing until she has blood in her urine

Well Louie is happy. He got cream cheese and he gets cream cheese twice a day for the next two weeks.

How is Louie feeling? Often the med's seem to help quickly so I hope they are working and he has no side effects.
