Macie Belle broke out in hives yesterday tried oatmeal bath cool water, and baby benadryl. She is better but still itchy any suggestions. Nothing has changed in her routine no new soaps people or anything I can come up with the other 2 dogs are fine. Thanks
Bug bites? Anything different coming into season? (it's the start of ragweed season here). Weather that would blow pollens around?
How old is she? Any new foods, or new people coming to visit that might have worn different soap or perfume?

That happened to Kelev once. I put a vinegar rinse on him......cannot remember what kind!
Sorry!
It never happened again!
Could be a possible bug bite. Stick with the benadryl for a couple of days (1 mg per pound of body weight). Thankfully they went down after a little while. Often times at work we do a steroid injection along with a benadryl injection (into the muscle) when a dog comes in with hives, especially a brachycephalic breed
You never know what sets things like that off. Check his armpits, belly and groin area really well for fleas, just in case, look for anything new or perhaps a new plant or bush or new treat or food, if you can't find it, chalk it up to pollen or other airborne allergens and treat with benadryl and watch him closely for symptoms to get worse.
take care,
Lisa

My first pug broke out in HUGE hives after I fed him way, way, way too much protein when I first experimented with the BARF (raw) diet. Not enough veggies etc. He was hot, panting and then broke out in hives. When I stopped and just put him back on his old food, he was fine. Not sure if this might be going on with your baby but I thought I would just share my only experience with hives. Hope your baby is better and you can figure out what might have caused it.
