All feet must die!!!

okay, some of you have heard about cody, the 10 month old puppy, and his obsession with feet and shoes. truthfully, he's much better than he used to be and rarely attacks feet (except for on daddy, who seems to have pug magnets in his socks...). but cody started out attacking ALL feet with a vengeance, like many puppies. and of course he still steals shoes. so this weekend, we're out putting up halloween decorations with him and his big sister cheyenne. we pulled out the artificial skeleton and turned our backs for a minute, and he stole one of the skeleton feet! it was a riot, i wish i had video, watching him run through the yard with his stolen "foot". so it turns out he has a vendetta against feet even in their most basic form!

never chews them just sleeps on them...
he used to put the shoes by the door if he wanted to go for a walk

yeah, i was amused by the spectacle of the pug puppy racing around with a skeletal foot in his mouth, and wondered what the neighbors must think!

Hahaha my puppy Ivy has a foot fetish too! She goes for everyones toes and totally LOVES slippers especially! We've had her since July and I've gone through 4 pairs already cos she just claims them as her own toys! haha

it's always reassuring to hear that other people have foot-fighters! they tell me he will outgrow this (he's already SOOOOO much better than he was when he used to attach himself to our feet whenever we walked across a room), and actually he doesn't really do it to anyone any more except my husband. i think cody has blurred the line between puppy and daddy and thinks daddy can be attacked like another puppy. but it's funny that he's so specific about it. must be the smell!!!

LOL too funny....I think it is a pug thing, Bella liked to bite my feet and dare me to move ha ha. My first pug Riley had a sock and underwear fetish. If I started running low, I would look under the bed and there was his collection. One time when my daughters boyfriend at the time was visiting, Riley came into the living room carrying a thong (not mine) in his mouth. I grabbed it from him so fast, my daughter said "what was that" oh nothing LOL. With Toby it's my bathrobe, he grabs it and shakes it, whether I'm wearing it or not. By the way, Toby is almost four so I don't know if he will outgrow it.....keeps me entertained though:)

i don't mind the shoe stealing and sock thievery, so he can keep that as long as he lives - it'll never really bother me. the foot attacking should stop, though. we squirt him with a water bottle when he does it. it's dangerous to have him underfoot like that anyway, but all the obedience trainers and vets i work with swear that it won't go on forever, and it has improved a great deal. i'd say once about every 2-4 weeks he'll get a wild hair up his hiney and start trying to bite my feet, usually because something else REALLY exciting is going on. if you tell him "No!" and squirt him, he looks all apologetic, like he knew better and just couldn't help himself. so i think it will pass. he's improving so much on so many other levels, i have faith in him. shoe stealing, on the other hand, i think will probably go on forever. we tease him that he would love to visit imelda marcos - he would get tired before he could steal all the shoes!
