Can you help identify my new puppy's coloring?

I agree with Lisa. First of all, she is too young for you to know what her colour will look like. One of the top breeders in Scandinavia usually has very dark puppies. They become very light as they mature and they win shows right left and center. So, she may become light still.

Second of all, mixing black with fawn is not the cause of sootiness, from what I've been taught about dog genetics. Also, there is nothing wrong with mixing black and fawn (if it should turn out she has black somewhere back in her pedigree). It's done all the time by serious and knowledgable breeders. Our little black girl has a fawn daddy and a black mommy and she is show quality.

Thirdly, if you're not planning to show or breed her, none of it matters. She is a gorgeous little girl

She looks similar to what my Brax looked like when he was a smaller pup like Lucy. He's 7 months now and I have come to the conclusion that he is what I've learned to be called, "smutty". I think it gives him character! Adorable either way!! :)

Oh my she is GORGEOUS. I love her colouring so far, she's a real show stopper. I do wish Pippy's ears were darker and she had more of a mask sometimes, although I'm thinking her ears may darken up a bit as they do have a dark tinge to them. But anyway, I love your girl, so pretty!

I had a very smutty little girl who grew up to be a beautiful apricot fawn with darker legs and face...sometimes you just have to wait and see what color develops...your baby's beautiful now, and will be even more so in time!
