Is there any updates on Cruiser becoming a part of your family yet?

I keep coming back to check for news. I know you must be on pins and needles.
LOL yes I am. And I do not want to be a pest so I waited as long as I could before emailing her!!!!! But I keep going over in my head what all I will need for the drive! like I will need to get him a nice new handsome sweater for when we have to stop and take potty breaks, and do I take my Pomeranian with me to see how they will do together? That will add to the 3 hour drive to stop for potty time on the way there but that would be ok. Would like my son or husband to come along could make a day of it! I will need to make sure I have the food he eats ready and a nice new bowel, oh yes and a dogie bed I forgot to ask if he was crate trained if so I need a good roomy one for him. He will not fit in my Poms crate. Oh so much to do. lol I was so looking forward to a brindle in the begging of my search but he is tan and black and as cute as can be. Well I better go check my email for the 100th time. Again thanks to everyone for sharing this journey no matter how it turns out.

Yes you should definitely take your Pom so they can meet and see if they get on well. If possible try and introduce them outside on neutral territory so that no-one goes alpha on the other!
I'm soooo excited for you! Let us know the second you do!!
How old is he BTW? What's his background?

This is like waiting for a baby to be born!
This is the information I was given!
His name is Cruiser we think he's no older the a year in a half or maybe under. He is very sweet. Seems to be very high energy, except when you ask him to he calms right down. This is his first night here. I have 5 other dogs here now, 4 pugs and a Weimaraner. He is very submissive as far as all the dogs wanted to smell and he just rolled over and let them...my Puppy is 10 mo. And they played all evening. I put him in his crate to eat. He does not make one peep in his crate and his his dinner in his crate....very well crate trained ...I kept him on a flexi lead in the house since it was his first time here and he never tried to hike or pee on anything. He does seem like a great dog, just probably needs some play time ...he was playing with toys and playing with the other dogs.
His story Is that he was found out running the streets in October and the shelter picked him up. He was neutered, microchipped, shots, heartworm tested. He was the adopted. This person dropped him back off at the shelter because his grand kids came over the visit and he peed on them. Now this is just stupid to me ...this is nothing to turn a dog in, if your not going to take the time to see why it happened. Anyway he was dirty, nose wrinkle was terribly dirty, so he got the works, bath nail trim, clean up. He also had 3 retained baby teeth we took out today so he is really set now. But anyway that is his story and my second day with him. He seems like s true sweetheart that loves to play.
There was a photo of him he looks like a lot of the other tan and black pug and he has the sweetest eyes ever. I did not remember reading that he is crate trained the first time I read the email, that is good. I have never had a dog who ate and would sleep in their crate! Does that mean I can not have him sleep with me? That would be ok I think If I get him I would sleep with him a few nights on the couch with me my bed is pretty high. My pom does ok but he has fallen off a few times always lands on his feet but still scares me but he likes to sleep there. I put him in the middle of the bed , we have a big bed and hubby is very nice about sharing the bed but Romeo always seems to find his way to the edge of the bed. I most likely will not do the sleeping in bed until Romeo gets use to him. Romeo is really good with puppies I just make sure he gets his mommy time with me. Her second email to me says he is pure pug.
Again I will let you all know as soon as I do.

HI,
Well the family that was to come see him today cancelled. So right now I am in the process of emailing her to see what the steps are or if they rescheduled to see him I am at a disadvantage being 3 hours away when there could be people closer. I am going to offer to send the money to her till I can come get him. Oh my gosh my heart is pounding I know he is not mine yet but a little closer then before! I will keep you all posted. Wow Im excited! Ok back to my email.

You might need a belly band in the beginning......and might have to watch him with your pom as he might have to learn not to be too rough.
He'll sleep with you if you want! Mine do! They go in crates too!
Sounds like you might have yourself a really nice dog!
Hi,
What is a belly band I have never herd of those. I will look it up on the net. I sure hope this works out. Good to know he can sleep with me and his crate.
Oh I just looked up belly bands I get it. That is kinda funny I had no idea they existed I used puppy diapers with my Pom! I hand made them once I saw how they worked he was not thrilled with them but he did not like being wet in them so I feel like it helped him potty train faster. This fella is trained but still good idea with the drive and new place and all.
