Default Cruiser exciting morning no photos to gross

So Cruiser and I and Romeo enjoyed a night of sleeping together. Tye got out of hand nasty with Cruiser and Romeo twice and I had enough so he went to his outdoor kennel. He has a heated dog house and straw for those of u who cringe at the idea of a dog being outside also it was not to cold. I did ask hubby if it would be ok and he checked weather and said yes. Then he went to check dog house and said Tye was curled up toasty warm in there.
So anyway today it was time to get up and do our morning walk, Cruiser is all excited.
Well to set the stage of events.
We have had coons eating my bird seed out of my biggest bird feeder and it is a big one and they eat it all in one night. So about 3 weeks ago Avery my step daughters dog cornered a really big coon under our deck and they guys got under there and shot it but did not actually die so Avery chased it off into one of our woods. Never to be seen again.
Well last night I herd the dog Avery going nuts under the deck but was to tired to check on it and his mamma was so I let her figure it out. Well pretty soon in comes hubby throwing off his rob and grabbing for clothes and telling me to get the gun and load it. So I do and he grabs it and runs out. I hear the guys and Avery under the deck so I now figure it is another coon. I herd the shot and then the manly ooo and aahhhhs and some laughing.
Hubby comes in and tells me they got this one first shot and it was a very big one. The last one was bigger then Avery this one he said was twice as big.
We have to be careful of coons in our area as they are not nice and will charge us and the smaller dogs. I am surprised Avery did not get hurt but he is a hunting dog and is mean as all get out when he has a animal in his sites and he know to get out of the way of the gun.
So ok coon dead problem solved I try to drift off back to sleep.
Well this morning on our walk what do we see laying right by my step daughters car and who do u think was the first to spot it. Good thing Cruiser had the harness on cause man he was wanting that dead coon. I let him get close enough to sniff with out actually touching it. So I was able to get him away and continue to walk so he could do his business and he sniffs it again on the way back in at a safe distance.
I get inside and feed Cruiser and figure out Romeo is not inside begging for his food so I go looking and through the glass door see him head first into the coon. UGGGGGGGG so I scramble outside in my SOCKS in the WET snow and grab him up and he is all sorts of coon gooey. Off to the bath for him. So now I am taking Cruiser in to get his weight and for them to look Romeo over. He is updated on his shots but still I want to ask if I need to get anything as a preventative , hubby just laughed at me as he says " that is what dogs do dear they hunt, kill and eat at the dead animal." I just said back to him maybe the dogs he and I use to have while on the farm but my Cruiser and Romeo are top of the line dogs and I prefer they eat clean meat.
He then reminded me the knuckle bones I give them have the raw meat on them so he had a point BUT that meat is not encased under fur intestines ext. someone else has cleaned that all off so my babies can have a nice clean bone. Hubby just walked over kissed me on top of the head and called me a snooty dog owner. lol
    I am good with that.
Thanks for reading sorry so long. I do not have the gift of making a long story short.

I know that's what dogs do but it's still nasty! If Tinker finds anything dead on the beach she immediately rolls in it, we have had many a morning bath! Thankfully she has not tried eating it!

OHHHH u mean like he knew there was a coon around? Maybe while on walks he might have picked up the sent. But the coon was not killed till after the pacing post BUT that makes some sense! Thanks for thinking of that.

Well I am back from vet and went outside to get a shovel to do some planting and notice that the coon caucus is still there! U think one of the kids could have gotten rid of it ! Well It is a good long walk to the compost pile and it is nice outside so I do not mind to much. BUT I will not take any dog with me I do not want them seeing where I put it. I figure one of them most likely Avery the one who killed it will drag it back out as Cruiser and Tye are on the leash. Romeo will do his best to find it. For such a small dog he sure is not afraid of grit and grim. lol
