I had a boxer puppy a few years back and after she learned to go up the stairs she came down them carrying my chewed up sandal with her :( lol

We have to be careful when we go up the stairs now that she doesn't follow us lol.

We were very careful of Tiny and stairs when she was a young pup, even put a barricade across the bottom of our external staircase so she couldn't attempt to climb them. One day I was upstairs and Tiny down in the yard with my husband. I received the shock of my life when I looked out and saw her standing on the verandah, so proud of herself. We couldn't work out how she had got through the barricade then realised that our daughters' picnic table and chairs set (a plastic 'all in one' set like the ones in picnic areas) was stored under the lowest steps. Tiny had found her way up on to the seat, which was level with the bottom step, and just climbed the rest of the staircase - 14 concrete steps.

She was so proud of herself but we moved the table and chairs set so she couldn't repeat the feat. It didn't take too long before she was bounding up and down, as soon as her little legs were long enough to safely climb each step. The internal steps weren't such a worry as they are timber and enclosed, unlike the external back staircase which is open.
