It's been so long since I posted anything about us! Life has been so hectic here. Here's the rundown:
Leto: major training breakthrough with the dog across the street who he has had scraps with, but these were always in groups. (for those who don't know, Leto is ataxic and probably has other brain damage, and has poor impulse control. He's the little boy on the playground who gets overstimulated and winds up decking other kids).Scot and Ken took Leto and Ray out together in the yard alone, and they love each other! Ray is a 2 year old intact male, a rescued feral mongrel from up north who is very hyper and intense, which is probably what stresses Leto. Once things were going well, Wally joined in, then the 2 other neighbour dogs, and Leto managed to keep his cool! He still needs close supervision when major zoomies break out, but he does with any dog other than Wally, so Leto happily has a new friend!
Wally: is Wally, and he just had his 4th birthday. We went for 2 legs in Novice Obedience this weekend, and in the first, he forgot how to heel off leash and stood there staring at me (so failed). The second, the heeling was fine, but he decided not to sit. Ever. Not for the heeling, not the finishes, and not the sit-stay. A bum exam revealed nothing, he was just being Wally and giving me the finger for making him work on a long weekend. We try again June 9.
Toby: Cruising on furniture. Getting into stuff. A total joy, even though he is on antibiotics for an ear infection again. Dad complains that we never get a pic of him smiling, but he's so intense and focused on exploring, the smiles are fleeting. He's also decided that when the camera comes out, he wants to see it, so it's hard to get good ones! He loves all animals but especially dogs, and he tries to get them to bark by going 'eh eh eh' at them. Very cute. He tried to get Dakota to bark too, but it didn't work.
Dakota: Planning on jumping him this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Radar: a total sweetheart and a great ride. Though he had thrush in one foot that bled a couple of times when I cleaned his feet, now we are teaching him that it's OK to have that foot picked out :P. How fast they learn to anticipate pain.....
And here's some Toby pics...
We'll have to get some new ones of W and L for you!!!
