Felt Pugley has completed his visit to the high plains of Wyoming. He landed in central Wyoming at Casper. Casper is located at the foot of Casper Mountain.

Casper is the largest town in Wyoming. We call it a town because their are no towns big enough to be called cities in Wyoming. Cheyenne is the capital of Wyoming, but Casper is somewhat larger than Cheyenne. Casper was established in the 1800's at Fort Caspar. Fort Caspar was a stopping place for settlers headed west on the Oregon Trail. This is a picture of the original buildings of Fort Caspar that remain standing today. Their is a museum on the grounds too. The spelling of the town name was changed somewhere along the way from Caspar to Casper.

Wyoming is known as the Cowboy state and we have a picture of a famous bucking bronco on our license plates. The horses name was Steamboat, and he was used in bucking bronco contests between 1901 and 1914. Wyoming has had a few occasions where they had to go to court to prevent other states from using our state license plates symbol.

Wyoming's economy is based on natural energy products such as oil, natural gas, and coal. Evidently a lot of dinosaurs roamed this area a long time ago. Many remains have been found and can be seen in the Tate Museum. The Tate Museum is part of our community college, Casper College that sits at the base of Casper Mountain.

Brrr, that looks cold, glad FP has his scarf!

I had no idea Wyoming was such a producer of natural energy - must bring a lot to the local economy?

Love that dinosaur! Looking forward to more of FP's adventures in the Cowboy State!

I could not put Felt Pugley in front of any of these landmarks and take his picture because of the wind that blows constantly in Casper. If I would have tried that, poor Felt Pugley would have been in the next county before the picture ever got taken. He did enjoy some time in front of the fire place at our house though.

He also enjoyed his visit with the nutcracker on top of the fireplace.

    [IMG][/IMG]

He was a little overwhelmed when trying to get acquainted with the resident Pugs here.

Benny (red collar) Gus (blue collar) decided to invite Felt Pugley to have treats. Did someone mention a food word? Treats!

So as all good visits should include treats, that is where we will end our chapter of Felt Pugley's visit in Casper Wyoming. Felt Pugley has left the winter land of Wyoming and is on his way to Peachtree City, GA. Boy I wish I was going with him to warm weather and no wind or snow.

I hadn't realised that you had to endure strong winds across your city, too. Wellington is also a wind prone city and I shared your fears of FP flying away!

That fire looks especially cosy, though. However, I'm most jealous of your beautiful grumble - you are one lucky lady!

Goodness, it does look windy and cold there. Love the fireplace photo with FP cozy in his scarf. But love your Puggies even more. They are precious.

Yes the wind blows pretty much all the time in Wyoming. It gets aggravating but at least we have little to no air pollution. Studies have shown it makes our suicide rate higher per capita than other places without the wind. I can sure understand that sometimes.

Thank you. We are a little partial to them ourselves. All are rescues except Gussie.

Thanks for the glimpse of Wyoming (brr!) and your beautiful grumble! So sweet.
