I've just found out that Felt Pugley should be arriving in England at the end of this week! I hope he has a pleasant flight "across the pond."

The first stop on FP's adventure was actually my work! I figured he would like to check out what this servant to Phoebe does to keep her girl in the lap of luxury. I work at a company that designs office spaces and reps for companies such as Herman Miller. We use our office as our showroom. When we first waked in the door FP just couldn't take it anymore. It had been a long journey and he couldn't hold it.

I told him as long as the boss didn't see he was safe!

Next we headed into our "living room". He was really enjoying the comfy couch and orange executive chair.

The next part of the office was his favorite (and mine too)! I spend a lot of time here on my lunch breaks. He wanted to recreate a picture he saw on the internet!

That Eames chair is the most comfortable I have ever sat in. I had a hard time getting FP to get out of it but I told him there were many other places to see so he hopped down and we headed home to prepare for the next day!

I had planned on taking FP to Chicago for the day but a wedding and the Blackhawks game squashed those plans. (I don't go anywhere near the city during major sporting events) SO, we headed to my hometown of Woodstock. It is a small town about 50 miles northwest of Chicago. As a teenager I was bored out of my mind but as an adult I appreciate the quaint scenery and charm.

However, before we even started our trek we had to make a crucial stop!

Our first stop was the Todd School now known as Dean St. Elementary. Orson Wells attended school here for a several years where he met a teacher who inspired him and and nurtured his enthusiasm for theater.

Our next stop was this bed and breakfast. I used to live right around the corner from it and always enjoyed walking by it on my way home from school. It was always where Bill Murray's character stayed in the movie Groundhog Day which was primarily filmed in Woodstock when I was in 7th grade.

And across the street is this house. FP really liked the colors!

Woodstock is loaded with Victorian homes which really are quite a sight if taken care of. This one was always my favorite. It is called "The Wedding Cake" house. The builder built it for his daughter as a wedding gift. I love the colors. FP thought it looked good enough to eat!

I love the house of many colors, FP certainly gets around. Went back and reread all the pics of your office--to die for, just beautiful settings.

After a few more houses I decided to take FP to an unusual spot. We went to the cemetery. Yep. The artist who brought us Dick Tracy, Mr. Chester Gould, was a long time resident of Woodstock and he and his wife are buried there. FP had told me he loved crime fighting comic strips so I thought he would get a kick out of it.

Mr. Gould is not the only interesting person buried there. Back in 1958 Lana Turner's 14 year old daughter stabbed her mother's boyfriend to death in self defense. That man was Johnny Stampanato who grew up in Woodstock.

After a bit FP started to get a little scared so we headed to the "Square". It is the center of town.

This is opera house. Many years ago it was starting to get run down and they began a restoration. Paul Newman donated all of the seating!

FP wanted to go into this place for a snack. I have never eaten here but I hear it is delicious!

Apparently they have a festival now to honor Orson Wells. I also saw that they have a pub crawl in his honor too. Fun!

We took in a few more sights and decided to call it a day. We were both exhausted!

After a long day of seeing the sights and the scare of the graveyard I decided to treat FP to Chicagoland treat. Now it doesn't look like much in the picture but this italian beef was delicious! Hot peppers and cheese. FP loved it. He was also amazed by the amount of toppings on his Chicago dog!

With a full belly and heavy eyes, FP snuggled in with Phoebe for the night to get ready for his flight across the pond! Goodbye FP. We miss you already but know you are going to have a blast over in England and on the many other stops that await you!!!
