We are looking into buying a Puppia Soft Harness "AC30" type for our pug. Our pug is seven years old and weighs around 22 pounds. He is shorter, stockier with a fairly broad chest. If anyone out there could shed some light about what size harness we should get we would really appreciate it!!
Hello & to the village! No advice here except to measure well, we use a Lupine and I try them on Tinker before buying. I'm sure others on here will chime in. Glad to have you aboard!
Jackie,Mom to Robbie & Stacy my human children and Tinker my furkid.
Both of mine wear a large, but now that they've lost a bit of weight, they have the adjustable clip on the smallest it will go, and I think they'd get away with a medium. They both weigh 8-9kg, and one of them is pretty short and stocky. I'd probably suggest a large...but in my experience the Puppia size guides are the most accurate way to get the right size :)
Also, I find that the more substantial Puppia harnesses (more like a sleeveless jacket, with a large clip on the back) come up a size smaller, so you need to order a size up. I think it's just more restrictive on the chest so feels quite tight.
Gigi wears Puppia Harnesses and she is between 16-17 pounds and wears a Medium and it fits her perfectly. I think for 22 pounds with a broad chest, I would definitely get a Large.
Lucy is 20lbs but rather petite in build (for a pug) and wears a medium. Sounds like you'd probably do well with a large.
There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.
