    Default The things people say....

Today Toby got to ride to town with me to get dog food and stuff, he was so happy to go with me People usually react well to him and say nice things, but I don't know what happened today I was in Petco when an elderly lady came over, she smiled and said... he is so ugly he is cute. I could tell she was really smitten with him, probably heard that saying somewhere before and wanted to use it. My response......Nope, there is nothin ugly here, smiled and walked off Then we went in the tractor store and a man looked at him and said "hey you little sh#tt". Scuseee me, is that redneck for hey you're cute?! Oh boy LOL!

The best part is this...found at Target, I bought two rolls

Now we are back home and he is laying across my lap snoring

Being married to a Chinese guy and having 3 children with him, I am so used to insensitive, ignorant, b***s***, from complete strangers, nothing surprises me anymore. I am starting to think NO ONE teaches their children manners anymore...that and I blame the media. Nothing is taboo anymore, so I think people think that gives them a pass to say any old thing that comes to mind.

FYI...I HAVE to get that wrapping paper!!!!!!

Most people mean well they just don't have any clue they come off sounding ignorant. Both my daughter's are half Polynesian and when they were younger they were always being thought of as Indian or hispanic. Never really had any racial issues tho, thank goodness.

People are at best insensitive and at worst, ignorant. For the insensitive, I will be cordial, for the ignorant, I'll lay into them.

I just had to shake my head when I read this. My mother said the EXACT same words when I adopted Misha. She saw her large eyes and just didn't get it. She just couldn't understand why I wanted a pug and not a Golden Retriever, which is her favorite dog and our family had one when I was younger.
But she's my mom, and she is in her mid 70's, so I had to laugh and let it go...and she adores Misha now.

I do love the wrapping paper, that is just adorable. I'll have to check my local Target and see if they have it!

Like I tell my kids at school just because something popped into your head it doesn't need to come out of your mouth. It is called self control.

Sunday I am headed to Target.
