Anal glands question?

pumpkin is available in a can or you can also buy a product called Firm Up. it is also really pumpkin but dehydrated......you just add water to use it.............only use what you need and it keeps a long long time.
you can get a pie pumpkin if you see one and use it and cut it up and then mash it and freeze it in ice cube trays......
one tablespoon will be enough for a meal for a pug
have used it on my cat too

something the vet suggested here since the cat has issues with his anal glands and also soft poop was an intestinal dogfood that is high energy and that cleared him up here really well. could ask your vet about that...

Waitrose do Libbys brand of pumpkin. Apparently it's 100% pure but it's puree.

They haven't always though because when I was looking for it for Will, they didn't. Wonder if that would be ok?

One year I bought two at Halloween and then froze it all because I was that fed up of not being able to find it so I feel your frustration!

Puree is fine if you can find that

She's on James wellbeloved kibble which says no wheat no dairy etc. Do you think this food is ok for her? She does have doggy treats a couple of times a day too.

Ok I've found the purée on waitrose now just need to find a waitrose as delivery is a minimum order of £60 lol

You can also give ground chia seed (1/2 - 1 tsp per 10 lbs) or ground psyllium (name brand Metamucil) for fiber (1/4 - 1/2 tsp per 10 lbs). Both are human products so very easy to find at regular stores and health food stores.

Homer have the same problems. so now i added pumpkin 1 tablespoon and frozen veggie (broccoli, cauliflower, beans, and carrot mixed) to his dinner.
his anal is worst since we switched him to raw (my vet said that raw would worsen anal gland problem because they dont add enough fiber). and since he need to diet, i half the raw patties and substitute with the veggie as above.
i havent expressed him in a month. (last time it was 2 weeks and it's 3/4 full) so it's definitely a good sign :)

btw i puree pumpkin myself and just freeze it in batches, that way i know that they dont have anything else added into it
