There is always one. Good for you for not losing your cool--it's honestly not worth it. Why waste good energy out to combat idiocy. I'm a big believer in "what goes around, comes around" and it will all even out. My son told someone the other day (after a comment on how ugly our pugs are) "Well, ugly is only skin deep in pugs, with humans it often goes right to the bone". I would never be sharp enough to come up with a stopper like that.
I think Madelyn is beautiful. We always have "those people" say stuff to us: like, did she run into a car, or did she run into glass? Lately I have been doing a special laugh for people who say stuff like that. YUK YUK YUK
No sense in being whitty and sarcastic to a moron, they usually dont "get it" anyway!
I second Maryjo's idea!

"Heaven's the place where all the dogs you have ever loved come to greet you."
I have run into so many people like this it drives me nuts! I applaud you for being civil! That's not an easy thing to do!
ooh Madelyn is darling - she's smart too - of course she'd rather have Daddy carry her
Oh what a beautiful pug! I love her. As far as the lady
goes, don't waste your breath, because as someone else
said, they are usually too dumb to get it. I have decided
that some people on this earth just weren't raised right.

Just Don't Say Anything.
WhatEVER!!!! Anyone who's first thought is how much a dog is "worth" is obviously not the kind of person you need to be wasting precious oxygen on anyway. You did the right thing by just getting away from her as fast as you could.
LOL, men and pugs calendar. Sounds like a great fundraising idea to me!!!

I usually just give them a blank stare and if they keep asking intrusive questions, I ask "Why would you want to ask me that?" - they usually disappear.
Anyway, I LOVE the pictures of your husband and Madelyn - she looks so happy! She's done a wonderful job of training her humans!
