That is awesome! GO PUGS!!!
Both of my pugs seem to have excellent sniffers. Miss Nilla's favorite game to play is "the box game" - where we hide a treat in a box, among a pile of empty boxes, and she has to sniff it out. She LOVES this game and will play "go find it!" for hours if we let her.

In all seriousness, I can completely understand this! :) If I hide a treat in the living room and then let Will loose to find it, it doesn't take him long!!lol. My OH has also started teaching Will to find money (notes) by wrapping a treat inside, letting him smell it, hiding it then letting him find it. He finds it with a teat in and has found it once without a treat in (only to be seriously disappointed!) Don't know how successful it will be though now he knows it may not always have a treat wrapped inside!!
