Default My son asked me if all pugs are destructive chewers at times..lol made me laugh but...........

Gideon appears to be a real chewer. He put everything into his mouth that he can find and chews on it.
Kyle was surprised since he does not remember the pugs at home when he lived with me doing that but......
My pugs as puppies chewed my pantry shelf in my bathroom............stripped the legs of the wood almost.......
and other then that not that bad of chewers.......

Now Pru is a huge chewer but she is a bulldog......
Gus never chews nothing at all
Coco chews whatever he can get ......or carries it mostly in his mouth.........

then there is Ben and he is a chewer too........

some dogs seem to be more destructive then others and so far Ben is by far he most destructive..
    he has chewed bowls
    he has chewed his toys
    he has chewed my shoe
    he chewed a sock too
always watching him like a hawk......

    anything chewed by your pug??

I have to hide my cell phone at all times or that would be next..........
A pugs world is full of play and sleep and of course good food.........

Smidgen, here. Are you saying that 'chewing' is annoying and destructive? Putting it on page one of my must do's. Thanks for the heads up.

Chewers - just like kids - need to be redirected. Chewing on a shoe - should always elicit a no and then give an okay thing to chew. Even with our big dogs we gave them socks with a knot in it and "our stuff" was less desirable than the sock. Or we got better a putting thing up!! Money didn't go far with a family of 5 kids so we didn't need shoes getting chewed the night before school!

Murphy has always loved to chew. Just about every piece of wooden furniture I own has his puppy teeth marks on it. He still loves his Nylabones, especially at bedtime or when he's cuddling with me on the couch. Sparky... very little chewing ever.

Luckily I've never had a destructive chewer, but my sister's Oreo, if she gets bored, watch out!
