Wondering why people are buying water? I can see enough food for a few weeks if one has to stay inside, but why water? I have a weird hook up, I am on city water but my hose, outside water is my well, so no matter I would have water.

I am OCD about toilet paper . Anxiety about running out . I think my husband has declared me insane after I saw a meme about none on shelves in CA and I did run a fourth time for a giant supersize . We have it everywhere in the 2 bathrooms 2more packages in the linen closet and 2 more in the storage room . And I still think it’s not enough ? It’s just us 2

And now mummy to puppy Charlie too! Who said pugs are addictive?! :)
Outside of Boston... no lysol, purell, etc.. and the poor pasta man was trying to stock the shelves with 99c a pound boxes and people were hovering around pulling whatever he put out...

Thankfully the panic isn't bad here. I am going to the grocery store this morning so we will see what is or isn't on the shelves. Loon and I both have germ issues so we already have Lysol and hand sanitizer etc. We even already have masks and gloves.
We've made sure Louie is stocked up on food. Thankfully he isn't on any medication we would have to worry about. We will get heart worm and flea stuff next vet visit (on the 21st). We are already super careful about where he goes and what he is exposed to.
I may try and get twice as much water as usual today just in case there is some panic here and people go nuts.

Wow. These pictures of empty store shelves are kind of freaky. I understand being prepared and we always have lots of TP, water, food and cleaners, plus gloves and masks on hand, just in case of... whatever. I just like to always have extras on hand. But I really hope that the Coronavirus won't turn out as bad as people fear.
My boss at work has been panicking about it for weeks now. She has a relative out west and someone living in their community died from Coronavirus during the time that someone from our area was out there visiting. Now my boss is worried that the local person "brought it back with them" and is a walking "typhoid Mary."Boss has been talking about things like "if it hits our town, what if we have to close for a couple of weeks?" and such. I really hope it doesn't come to that.... I can't really afford extended time without pay! Personally, I don't expect it to affect our little town much at all. I can see it being a much bigger problem in large cities and I think it's good that the hospitals across Michigan are getting plans in place, just in case. But I just don't expect it to be a huge issue here.
One strange way that Coronavirus has already affected our town/lives though... my hubby is a small engine mechanic and at work they were waiting for a replacement engine to come over from China for a warranty issue on a machine he was fixing. It turns out that the ship was stopped and so that engine is stuck somewhere on a ship on the ocean, not allowed to dock and deliver the engine!

Not much going on, on this side of Michigan either. Haven't noticed much panic and the shelves seem to still be stocked at the stores. Hopefully it ends up not being a huge deal. Especially since I work in a nursing home. I'm not really one to panic and worry though.
