    DefaultI need some social distancing...

Louie is taking “pugs can sometimes be clingy and are at times referred to as ‘Velcro dogs’” to a whole new level this morning.

He literally has to be TOUCHING me. He walked ON my feet while I made the bed, he was right between them with a paw on them while I made coffee then immediately wanted to be picked up. He screamed like he was being murdered while I took a shower then had to be right on me when I got out (I now have a lovely lotion/pug hair mixture covering my legs), he sat on my feet while I washed my face, he was in my lap while I did my hair and makeup. I FINALLY got him to sleep on his blanket, I mean he was snoring loud so I know he was asleep. I got up to pee and he nearly beat me to the bathroom where I had to hold him.

He always has to be in the same room and he does like to be held when he’s sleepy... but this some whole new thing he’s started. He has NEVER been this clingy.

I don’t know what is going on with him today. He ate breakfast fine. He pottied fine. Other than absolutely having to be held/touching me he is acting like his normal self.

    Social distancing, Louie, social distancing.

Love the picture of the sweet sleepy boy.

I wonder if he is picking up on your stress right now from all of the stuff going on in the world? My pugs tend to get a lot more needy when they know that I am stressed. Also, is Loon home now as well, working from home? Perhaps Louie is confused by having you both there all day and so he wants extra cuddles to reassure him that all is fine.

Another thought... pugs go through "phases" the way human babies/toddlers do.... maybe this is just his "extra clingy" phase?

Sending you some positive vibes for Louie to settle down and chill out.

Maybe he's picking up on my worry/stress a little.

Loon isn't working from (her job is considered "essential") so that isn't it.

It literally just started this morning. Some little lightbulb went off in his head where he thought "I mush be touching mama at all times today".
Maybe it is a new phase. It's definitely better than the crazy wild phase. At least it's somewhat calmer.

I feel like I need one of those baby slings where I can just attach him to me and continue on with my day.

I'm laughing, but not because it sounds ridiculous or anything... I actually have a homemade wrap-style baby sling that I occasionally use to carry my Wonka around in (although he is MUCH heavier than Louie!). I call it the "Puggy Snuggy" and I've used it when on long walks and Wonka needs to be carried, or if he's feeling poorly and just wants to be held all the time.

As you say, "It's definitely better than the crazy wild phase. At least it's somewhat calmer." Just another phase that makes Pugs so endearing.

That's what I need! A puggy snuggy! Our daughter has one of the slings that she used for our grandson. I am going to see if she will let me borrow it for Louie.

Certainly a phase he should be at the anxiety age phase .
He is lucky you are home .
Mine are clingy here is a picture my husband posted earlier while I was working outside up front .
Oh yes we send pictures of the boys more than we do of our human child .
The college kid is perfect at social distancing he leaves his room to eat and go pee ! Plays video games all day !

    Bless those sweet boys!

I am not allowed to leave the room without Louie. He loves Loon and will play with her and stay in her arms/lap...until I get up and walk out. Then he goes nuts until she puts him down so he can come find me.

after this phase is over you might need to work on some distance training. Start with sit and stay . I play games . After he gets a solid sit and stay hide somewhere in another room. Call him ! Of course I got a tiny snack ....Gordon knows he can't focus knowing there will be food and runs frantic around the house
