Angry One more thing to be mindful of and look out for...

    Ugh! People are so gross.

I took Louie out to potty and he stepped on something. Being the dramatic pug that he is he immediately started yelping and limping and losing his mind.

I rushed him inside only to discover he had stepped on a wad of chewing gum!

You can imagine how much fun THAT was to clean off Louie's paw. I know that peanut butter will dissolve chewing gum but we didn't have any so I used micellar water (a make up remover) and a cotton pad and that took care of the majority of it. I just had to use little embroidery scissors to trim off some that was in between his pads. Then I gave him a bath to make sure I got all the micellar water off.

He's probably going to have a belly ache in a little while because I went through almost a whole bag of treats trying to get him to hold still and let me work on his foot.

Ick! Poor Louie, traumatized by someone's discarded gum!

Good idea to try the micellar water makeup remover to get the gum off! Very clever.
I hope he doesn't have a tummy ache from the treat overload!

That is right up there on my list of things that make me mad, thankfully I have an old truck but I walk around scraping my shoe up trying to get it off. He probably would have tried to eat the peanut butter anyway!

Poor Louie hope there is no lasting effect from this, look on the bright side you got loads of treats. Pugs can be drama kings and queens.

Well if he had a belly ache he didn’t let on but he did wake up and do a really good poop around 2:30 this morning.

How hard is it to hold your gum in your mouth until you get somewhere you can spit in the trash?

Ugh those used face masks gross me out too! Thankfully we don’t see a lot of them here but every once in a while at the grocery store or something we will see one in the parking lot. What kills me is they are usually laying right next to the garbage can!

People are pigs. Poor Louie, everyone hates stepping in gum.

Rosie here: That's an odd way to get treats, Louie. I just pull out the cuteness card and it's like puggy kryptonite...they can't resist. I KNOW you surely must have tried that!

That must have been quite a tussle trying to get chewing gum of a pug foot! Well done you!

On a serious note though a lot of chewing gum can have xylitol or even nicotine in it - as you say something else to watch out for! Sadly, 3 years after stopping smoking I’m still addicted to nicotine chewing gum that has xylitol in it. I’m so scared of the dogs or my grandson getting hold of it that if I take a card of it out of a high cupboard where it’s stored I put it straight into the zipped pocket on a running belt I’m wearing around my waist.
