My little baby pup had his eye checkup today and he got a glowing report :)
She said she's never seen the cotton bud debridement work so well overall and the ulcer is all healed up :)
We are of course to continue with the lubricant drops but the vet is happy! Yey! Tiny bit of scarring which may or may not disappear.

And now mummy to puppy Charlie too! Who said pugs are addictive?! :)
And psycho pug mum here made the vet nurse who came out to get him carry him across the carpark so he wouldn't burn his toes![]()

Yay! So happy for Charlie and a good report.
I carry Louie across any asphalt so he doesn't burn his toes. That stuff gets HOT! Good job looking out for Charlie!

So pleased to hear that Charlie is ok and that he had the ‘right type’ of ulcer for cotton bud debridement to work (unlike poor Darwin). It’s such a relief when you know that they’re ok again!

Incidentally......£43 something.....£43 something to tell me his eye is healed....taking the Michael .... But most important that he's ok.

Yes his eye is healing really well thank you - just a small whitish area where the ulcer was now. Unfortunately I’ve now noticed that he’s got PK in both eyes. The specialist says that while it stays to the inner side of his eyes that he wouldn’t worry too much about it, but I’ll get him to have a closer look at it the next time he comes down to my vets. He suggests Tacrolimus drops could be given but I’m not keen having read all the cautions that you must wear gloves to administer it and it can be excreted in tears, saliva, urine etc. How could I use a drug like that with a pug that effusively licks people, a human toddler around and Darwin sleeping with me in bed at night? Alternatively he can completely remove the PK with a diamond burr debridement under general anaesthetic, but I’d definitely keep that for a last resort if he was losing his eyesight
