Louie vs the hard boiled egg

He better be glad I love him.

I got up this morning and made Louie his breakfast egg

Louie's perfect soft boiled egg recipe is as follows:

1.) put enough water to cover Louie's egg on to boil
2.) when water boils place Louie's egg in water
3.) set timer for six minutes and 30 seconds
4.) when timer goes off immediately plunk Louie's egg into ice water to stop the cooking
5.) peel Louie's egg under cold running water so that it cools off quickly and he can eat it right away
6.) put Louie's egg in a bowl and mush it up
7.) give Louie his egg

I don't know if I forgot to set the timer or if I didn't hear it go off. I cooked Louie's egg too long. I decide to risk it and give it to him anyway.

Louie (giving egg a weird look): Mama...something is wrong with my egg.

Me: Louie, it's okay. It is the same as your other eggs just a little firmer. You can eat it.

Louie: I don't think so.

Me (taking a bite and forcing myself to swallow it while gagging because I don't like hard boiled eggs either): See? Mama ate it. It's okay. It's good. Go ahead and eat your egg.

Louie (backing away): Nope.

Me: Louie, come on. Just eat the egg.

Louie: No. I saw you gag. Make me a real egg. That one is poison.

Me: Louie, just eat the egg!

Louie (running as fast as he can in circles): Oh my god! Somebody save me! My mama is trying to poison me! Help!

At this point I just gave up and made him a real egg which he happily ate.

Louie says "YUCK!"

He absolutely refused to eat that hard boiled egg. He got excited when I put the bowl down, stuck his face in it, then recoiled and looked like I had just put the worst most vile thing in the world in front of him!

Soft boiled eggs are his favorites. SOMETIMES we can get him to eat scrambled eggs...if they have cheese in them. But he will not eat a hard boiled or a fried egg.

Get a louder timer how can he possibly eat an egg cooked wrong? Hercules would have eaten it in less than 60 seconds then I would have to wear a gas mask!

Don't give him any ideas or you may end up with three pug boys! One of which likes his eggs cooked for exactly 6 minutes and 30 seconds!

OMG, this had me laughing so much!
I'm amazed that he would turn up his nose at it just because it cooked a bit longer. His majesty is not pampered at all. Oh the things we do for our pugs!!

He will not eat a hard boiled or fried egg. Not at all.

To get him to eat scrambled eggs you have to have cheese in them and you have to feed them to him by hand.

I don’t know why he is so funny about eggs.

I mean this is the same pug who doesn’t even stop to see what most stuff is before he swallows it whole.

He ate a makeup wipe not long ago. Got it out of the bathroom trash can. He pooped it out while we were on poop watch for the bone.

But try to get him to eat a hard boiled or fried egg and oh no that’s poison!
