we are pug sitting a non fixed male and i noticed when he sits down and is relaxed his mr. happy comes out about and inch or so do all male pugs do this or is it because he is not fixed.(he is not fixed because he is a show dog)
Both Toby and Tyler are fixed, but we still see Mr. Happy on occasion. LOVE the nickname! Peg
Yep. The Mini Sizzler shows up from time to time. I believe that many an expensive professional photo shoot of pug families has been ruined when, upon closer inspection, people find a "guest" in the photo.
Blanche, your post threw me, with your new avatar.
YEs, we have "sightings" from our fixed boys. Usually, this happens while some unsuspecting person is giving them some chest rubs or scratches.

Murphy's been known to bring out the lipstick on occassion - like when he got his picture taken at a fundraiser. It looks so professional except his Mr. Happy is peeking out.![]()

The first time Denver's "lipstick" came out was on our way home from picking him up at Blanche's who had been fostering him. I now know that it happens when he is really happy. I have often wondered why he was so happy to be leaving Blanche. Maybe it was because he wasn't allowed on the Island of Bob.
And being the beef-cake calendar pug that he is, Denver was *really* happy when we had the family photo professionally done. So many pictures we couldn't use!

The belief system upon which the conventional medical model is founded is so faulty, so corrupt and so dangerous that you simply cannot afford to follow blindly." Hilary & the Pugpillow Gang: Rescues: Denver (10), Tina (7), Murdoch (5) and chihuahua puppy Maximus Spartacus. Always loving my angel-girl Mei-Ling (1994-2009), my cutie-patootie Kim-Soo (1995-2010), my precious Daisy-Bo (1998?-2006), my sweet boyfriend Jake (1997-2010), my little black beauty Betsy (1995-2010), my sweet old grumpy man Gooey (1996-2011), and my sweet gentleman Farnsworth (1998-2012) at the Bridge.
Hmph!! I could take that personally, Hilary, but I won't.
He was so happy because he was going to a fabulous forever home to live with the love of his life (Mei-Ling) and begin his marking career. To be honest, I think that Denver didn't begin to "blossom" until Boston was gone. Boston let it all hang out on a regular basis and humped Denver relentlessly.
