Misty's are rose but she doesn't care! What a beautiful face and those pretty eyes! Hers could ahve been taped during her teething period and they would have been button. But who cares? Do they make her face less beautiful? NOT!
Oh, thank you!! I think Misty's face is absolutely adorable too! But maybe I'm biased!

Thanks for sharing. I've been really confused about this too, so these photos really help illustrate the point.

Liza says that she is show quality all the way-especially the ears! (well, she's "best in show" in our house, anyway.... )

And then the ears of Walter probably defy definition...

Rascal says he's very very pretty...

I love this topic... I am learning so much.

I am guessing has rose pedal ears, and while he is not square enough for show, he still is bueeeetifull.

I was hoping we'd get a Walter ear picture out of this thread! And are Liza's always as, um... distinctive, as in her photo, or is she just happy? She's a doll!

Next ear-related question: can puppies have button ears which become rose ears as they get older? Although I haven't located Jackson's puppy pictures since the move (which I really want to scan to share with y'all!), I'm pretty sure his were more buttony when he was a pup, but he's a definite rose ear now.

What would you call these ears? This was Scooby Doo, my cleft palate baby who valiantly tried to live and he did until he was 14 weeks and 5 days old. At this time, he had a shunt in his neck and I fed him through that because he hated the tube feeding and would not let us put the tube down his throat.

You asked if button ears can become rose ears? Most are born wtih button ears but if the cartilage breaks and folds in that extra fold, the ear goes up and out and becomes a rose ear.

This is good pug information. I believe that Black Jack's ears are more like the button style. Am I correct? He is still young (5 months) maybe they aren't fully developed. What do I know?

This is just fascinating to me. God knows what my guys have--I never pay enough attention. all I know is that I love pug ears. And I especially love Walter ears--a category unto itself. I love that Maudie has a bit of that Walter ear lift.

And Liza!! Girl--those are some pretty interesting ears!! We may have to add another category.
