I woman I work with, has 5 pugs living at her house. Duke and Dutchess (which are brother and sister) and one of Dutchess's first litter a girl pug and one from the second litter and another from the third and final litter of Dutchess. All the litters were fathered by her brother!!!! Now one of the puppies (that is 1 1/2 ) just had a litter of 8 by its father!!!
What the heck kind of madness is going on with these people! 4 of the puppies died because the human parents were to lazy to get up and help the mom learn what to do. There were no vet visits and none of them has had shots or heartworm prevention.
I am appalled by the situation these pugs have to live in. I think the whole family is not all there. I work with the adult of the house and she is as irresponsible as they come.
Her house is filthy and they are eating terrible quality food.
Maybe I should have posted this in the prayer forum, these pugs really need some prayers that they will have a nicer home eventually.
Is there anything I can do? She has 5 and that is the maximum for where we live. I sure wish there was laws about inbreeding and backyard breeding.
People are just nuts!!!

OMG I have no words. The whole Freakin Family is probably inbred too

Well, I will pray for the remaining puppies and the mother.
The only think I can think is to call Animal Control and pretend you think she has more then 5. Maybe they are not current on their rabies, and they will atleast get a warning or fine.

Honestly it is a great thing I am not even close to there or they would have NO pugs! A mysterious disappearance would just happen!
I remember that when I had a poodle the vet said father daughter ok but not mother son or sister brother this still seemed bad to me!
POOR babies please call animal control!

That poodle vet was correct as long as the daughter was a result of an outcross. The mother is suppose to make 60-70% of the puppy that is why you should not breed her children back to her. It gets kind of complicated and it sounds from the story above that the people had no concept of genetic and how they really work in breeding. Heck I still don't but have great mentors to guide me along my crazy ideas!

OMG!! No words for this.
Can the house be inspected by the Humane Society? If they are not caring for the puggies maybe there is something that can be done. Does the town have any regulations of how many dogs can be in a house?

I would do what the others have suggested and call your local animal control. Maybe a fine or a warning will do some good. It's sickening how some people treat animals.
