I began working from home in February. I do have to go into the office once a week. My mother and I live together so he's not alone. He has decided that every week when I go to work he should drop off a little present for me somewhere in the house. It could be the living room, a bedroom, even the laundry room. He never does this any other time so I know it isn't an accident. I'm not sure what to do about it. He manages to do it when my mom isn't looking. The rest of the time he just sleeps or cuddles with her on the sofa. Do you think he is just punishing me? Any ideas how to make him stop?

I think you should speak to your mom about what differs in his routine when you are not there. Down to every precise detail - what time he eats, potties, gets walked, sleeps etc etc. It may be that the change of routine is upsetting him if he normally potties on a schedule that is disturbed if you are not there.

I think you should put him on a leash on days he is with your mom.. and put her on the other end of it.
That way if he "asks" she won't miss it, and if he "does" you will know where it is...
