you could call the vet and ask to borrow a heat pad.
whatever you use must be cleaned properly. any bedding needs to be germ free(ie new and washed on a hot wash)
are the pups trying to suckle, you may need to open the mouth to get them on.if you are squirting the colostrum it may go down to quick and cause major problems.
try one at a time, prise the mouth open and put it on her teat....see how you go.
did the vet check for cleft palates,he should have done. that would cause them not to latch on.....
no email arrived, you can use the pm above
Gosh what drama. I hope your friend is jolly grateful for all of this. Actually I can hardly believe somebody with such a heavily pregnant bitch would leave her with somebody else, especially someone without breeding experience, but now is not the time for recriminations...
Good luck with all of this.
You will I think need to stay up all night with her because it is not unknown for bitches to sit on and squash pups to death. That's one of the reasons for recommending a heat lamp or heat pad - so bitch can be kept away from pups except when actually feeding.

A couple have latched on and are feeding, 2 of the others are squeaking, the tiny one isn't doing anything much. I can't work out the whole pm thing, i've looked but just can't see it. I;m more worried about the mum, how long should it take her to wake up a little, she is rousable but sleeping most of the time.
All pups are warm and quiet for the moment.
I'm not too sure my friend is grateful, I think she's annoyed that Flo needed a section!

you should not hesitate in calling the vet if you are worried.
she should be up and about by now......
is she cleaning the babies? is she wanting to cuddle up to them?if not place the hotwater bottle in a box cover with vet bed and put babies in there untill she is more awake
WOW!!!
Mom should be awake! At least my vet doesn't let me take a mom home til she can sit up! Please call the vet!!!!
I do not understand your weights. Solo was under 4 oz and needed to be tube fed for a day or two..then was fine!
Am hoping you're getting help from people close to you!!!
Sending you a bigfor even taking this on...and good thoughts for you, mom, and babes.
I brought them home as soon as mum was awake but she fell asleep in the car and has only woken up briefly since. I will take the pups of her for now and see if she wakes up any.

Ok, mummy is sat up and i've put them back with her. She is interested in them and licking them a little. I'll try emailing again through your website whatapug. 100g is about equal to 4oz, the UK is now metric.
We now have a heat pad, I will post some pictures when I get chance.

well done
ensure she is cleaning them and making them go to the toilet otherwise you will need to do it with a baby wipe, just rub gently until they have done both.

Wow that's drama! You are a good friend and a good person for doing this... I'm like, in total belief at your friend's reaction and this whole thing...all I can say is wow...PLEASE tell me that your friend is going to get her act together...what's going to happen to the mom and puppies now?
