Almond is not well. He is still behaving normally but I have noticed he has developed chest recession, I know this is a sign of chest infection in people so I am reallly worried about him.

I'm convinced he has an aspiration pneumonia, would he still be active and have good muscle tone if this was the case? It recession does not seem to alter if he's active or laying still.

I know if he has aspirated nothing can be done for him and don't want him to suffer but I just don't know if he has or if i'm being paranoid.

I am not going to wake him for feeds tonight (but i'll feed him if he wakes), i'll stay with him to monitor him and if he's no better by tomorrow i'll take him back to the vet.

Please pray for the little guy

oh my a pray going out to that dear dear boy tonight.

I lost three puppies to pneumonia some years ago. ghastly, it was total collapse. no other symptoms that I noticed (nb not pug puppies)

edited to apologise for scaring you, not intended, but sort of regretted what I just typed - my pups had extenuating circumstances. We never really got to the bottom of it.

    Everything crossed ........

Heather, I pm'd you! If he's having trouble breathing he most likely aspirated some. The vet can give you antibiotics (liquid) for him.

He can make it, it won't be easy but it's possible. I hope I can help!

A I hope if dogs ever take over the world and they choose a king, they don't just go by size, because I bet there are little dogs with some good ideas.
