My mom mentioned she wish she had a little playmate for her puppy. I told her I'd ship Conway to her. This is the email she sent back:
"Don't think I could take Conway for very long at a stretch, you guys have him spoiled rotten.....are all pugs that needy?
Conway is terribly needy. He's used to having his daddy home 24/7 and wants constant attention. Ted's in the hospital now and Conway is just beside himself. And his little face when I leave for work in the morning just breaks my heart.
i wouldnt say 'needy'
but they do love their people.

Pugsly and Taz were quite needy, but Chyna is more independant. Since Pugsly and Taz passed away, we do have Tinker who is pug/brussels griffon mix and Ruffy who is a brussels griffon... Both are boys and both are needy. Tinker does entertain himself fairly well though so I can't really complain

I think pugs are kinda needy, but that's probably why I like them so much. They need lot of hugs and kisses and cuddles![]()

I don't know if I'd use the word "needy" either, but I agree that they do love their people. Emi is my little shadow and hates to be separated from me (like on the other side of a door or something).

Pugs, like any other animal, have differing characteristics. But they were bred to be companion dogs and as such they like to be close to their people and pack, even if they are not necessarily the types to demand constant attention or cuddles.

I think "needy" is the wrong word. My little Bossco was my shadow as well. If I was sitting anywhere in my house, he would have to be on my lap, or close by where he could see me. When I left the room, so would he.
When I wasn't home he would pace and jump at every little sound he heard outside. He just wanted to be with me. Its not that he "needed" anything.
Chrissy is quite the opposite. She likes to be in the same room as us, but she hides behind the chair so she can watch. I havent had her for very long and she does have some issues from how she grew up before we found her. I do hope she comes around and is as lovable and cuddly as my little Bossco was.
In loving memory of my precious Bossco

My step-son says Otto is super needy. I have to agree. He has to be in the middle of everything....which is fine with me![]()
I guess they are but I need them just as much so it works out well.
