While we have dedicated, tireless shelter employees on the board. In the wide world, most shelter employees are disengaged, overworked, often working on compulsory volunteer programs or simply not aware of dog breeds. GO TO YOUR LOCAL SHELTER AND SURROUNDING SHELTERS EVERY DAY TO FIND YOUR DOG. Walk the cages, talk to employees. Some places will recognize a pug others won't and a phone call won't cut it at all. They just don't have the time to be swept up in your tragedy. It is not unknown for someone to take a lost dog home, craigs list for cash or dump it at the local pound days or weeks later when it is too much trouble to mess with. Or it may escape from the finder's custody through lack of supervision.

My heart is breaking for you, I really hope you find her! I would even go door to door and ask people if they have seen her. That is what my neighbors did when their min pin got loose and they found her a couple streets over. Someone found her and brought her into their home.
