Default Too soon to adopt another??

I was contacted today by the other pug rescue in the area that I had contacted before I adopted Bailey...took them awhile to get back to me...anywho, they have a black female about a year and a half that they said was a match for my family from the application I sent them. I got pictures she is sooo cute. She is a pup still so full of energy, just like my 2 yr old Bailey who I adopted almost three weeks ago. Of course my heart dropped as soon as I saw her picture and read her info. I am torn at what to do. Is it too soon to adopt another or would getting a playmate for Bailey be a good thing?

If you can afford it and have the room I'd say go for it. I love having two pugs. They're best friends. She is completely adorable, by the way.

I agree! I had intended to go with one, but I'm so glad I opted for two instead! They keep each other company during the day when I'm at work, and run pugtonas together and wrestle all the time.

I agree, they are less dependant on you when they have a play mate! I love having 2 now and cant imagine going back to one!

It took me over three years to adopt a second, but if I saw that face looking at me I would have skid marks in the driveway.
I had not read your other post when I read this one and I would agree with others that maybe this is not a good time. you do have a lot on your plate and as much as these little critters can make you feel so much better they are a handful. Given the current sit w/ the hubby and you not feeling well, it's a lot to take in. Get yourself better is first on the list. Another pug will come around when the time is right.

if you can afford the medical for another.. and if you realize that training them together does NOT make for faster learning (at least in my case! I needed to be disciplined and take them to separate classes - altho one learned most of the "rules" from watching the "demo dogs" in class, the other was not a learn by seeing pug!)...

You have a lot of other issues going on. Only you can make that decision, but I would think carefully. She is lovely.

She's gorgeous but you have a lot on your plate right now.

Bailey is having aggression issues and what if he doesn't like her or is jealous because he has to share you, with her.

How does your husband feel about getting another one?

How will you manage with three children under 5?

You have lots to consider and only you have the answers. I don't envy you the decision because male, female, black and fawn is a good match.
    Good luck
