Default Day one in a two puggy home

Gus (formerly Pugsley) came home today. He is a handsome little love. Smaller than I thought he would be, but I'm used to my big guy.

He's been living in a group foster home where he could go wherever and whenever he wanted, so house breaking is priority one. But I have patience and a plan and bags full of cooked chicken breast (thanks ViralMD) so I am optimistic.

Ming is reticent. I'm doing my best to make sure he knows he's still #1.

Gus' formal name is Augustus, named for one of my favorite fictional characters Gus McCrae from Lonesome Dove. But he'll go by GusGus, named for the chubby mouse in Cinderella.

    Getting familiar.

Mom, there's a strange puggy on your lap.

That's more like it. I now have two tired puggies snoring away on the couch. Whew. It's been a big day. So far, so good.

Yes, believe me they do. Rupert whom I've had now for two years just started marking so I have to belly band him once in a while.

He is a cute, good luck, I'm glad day one is going well. When I brought home Rupert as much as I adored him I was in tears, Viv did not accept him for about 2 weeks, then she gave in, now they are best friends.

Are belly bands just diapers? If not, where do you get them?

Belly bands I had in the past were about four inches wide or so and long enough to go around the pug. You could hook the two ends with velcro, and that way the "wee wee" was covered. IF the pug chose to pee, it got wet. It has been a long time, but I believe you can put a pad in them too to help protect anything else you don't want wet. You can make them, but I am lazy and bought some nice ones on ebay which I donated to a rescue person when I didn't need them anymore.

Gus Gus is adorable. Both faces are sweet.
