    Default Thinking About Fostering Again

I haven't fostered in about a year. Snafu was supposed to be a foster, but I kept her, and with her behavior problems, I didn't feel I could handle another dog.

I'm thinking of fostering a puggle. He is HW+ and has to go through treatment. The plusses: he is young, cute, and highly adoptable. The minuses: he is only two, active, and big (28 pounds).

Will Snafu let me do this? Can I keep him on crate rest for 30 days without all of us losing our minds? Do I have the patience to handle him?

He sounds like a big challenge, but a very rewarding one! I can see why it would be a hard decision to make.

You know well how badly fosters are needed, but only you can answer these questions. I have to wait four more years to begin fostering as agreed upon with SWMBO. That's when I retire and can give more time to them.

Pray for Louie, Snafu and me. I'm picking him up this afternoon.

All we can do is try.

He is here and first introductions went pretty well. He is in a large air kennel in the guest bedroom with a frozen marrow bone to keep him occupied.

Snafu's expression was not happy, but she didn't growl, snarl, or try to attack him through the baby gate. I have not let them meet unrestricted yet.

We need to complete two more weeks of crate rest, and then he should be released for adoption. At that time, I will be able to publish pictures and bio.

Do I hear foster failure? I know how big and soft your heart is.
